Daniel Behle was born in Hamburg. In January 2004 he completed his degree programme at the Conservatory of Music in Hamburg, where his major areas of study were trombone and composition, while studying singing privately with his mother Renate Behle and completing his voice study requirements at the Conservatory in July 2004. Daniel Behle has received special recognition in a number of competitions, including the Robert Stolz International Competition, and the Queen Sonja Competition and the Edvard Grieg Prize in Oslo. In the 2007/08 season he became a company member at the Frankfurt Opera, while appearing as a guest artist in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Vienna, among others. He made his debut at La Scala in Milan in 2008, and in Aix-en-Provence in 2009. In 2011 he will appear at the Salzburg Festival.
He regularly sings the oratorio repertoire on the concert platform and in radio and CD recordings. His two song recitals released in 2009 and 2010 were warmly received by the press.
